Hi:
I upgraded my Z1 Compact to Android 5.0.2 and GPS it's not working at all.
This is very upsetting, what can I do to fix it?
Thanks
Luis Toledo
GPS or Location as it's now called will only start to work when an app that uses it is been used, so you can turn it on but you won't see it as working in the icon bar at the top until an app is in use which uses GPS/Location
Ok, the problem is that it's not working when the apps call it (waze or google maps).
Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
I did that twice, but still dosent work.
How can I return to de Android 4.4?
Thanks
Hi,
I have the exact same, ever since my phone (M2 Aqua) updated to 5.1.1 a couple of weeks ago my GPS reception is very bad.
Even when not moving, it will go off and back on (reception) all the time.
Now, I've seen many complaints about this on the internet, convincing me this is Android related indeed and not brand related.
Thing is, for some it works, others not.
From what I read, it has to do with this version not coping too well with the cache management. This being said, I've tried some suggested tricks by installing apps that would delete siuch cache, to no joy.
If only I could revert to the previous version of Android...
Regards,
Ollie
Just noticed Google now recommends an app call GPS Fix that should resolve it.
You can find it here, I'll let you know if it works or not.
Urgh..... nope, it doesn't work either.
