Usb OTG support for Xperia XZ1 Compact?

Hello,

Does the Xperia XZ1 Compact support OTG?

I've tried using a micro-to-typeC adapter, an OTG, plugged in a mouse, keyboard, memory card, flash memory... nothing works

I've also gone into Settings-USB connectivity, but it doesnt detect any connected devices...

Anyone has the same problem or know how to resolve this?

Thanks.

Hi @KTo,

Xperia devices do currently not support USB On-The-Go (USB OTG), but they do support the USB Host standard.

Xperia XZ1 Compact support the following; HID, USB hub, USB mass storage and Audio. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee compatibility with third party USB accessories. However do make sure that you are using a USB-host adapter and not just a USB cable.

@Emil

It was one of the first thing i tried and works quite well, actually. Great work from Sony/Google.

USB OTG works with both external storage and keyboard/mouse setup.

I used USB-C OTG adapter from my wife's Samsung and my Anker.
I tested it with: a couple of Sandisk thumb drive, a multi-card reader (you know, those one for microSD, SD and MS card) and with my logitech bluetooth K270 mouse/kbd combo.

Edit: I just tested with a mini usb/USB C adapter connected to the USB OTG which came with our old Z3 Compact and they worked.

I'm seeing the same problems on my XZ1c.

Firmware is up to date.

I tried 3 different adaptors on at least 3 different USB sticks and various other devices (Keyboard, Mouse, FLIR One). Even my PS4 controller doesn't work over USB.

The USB sticks don't even get powered, and nothing shows up in the connections menu about USB devices.

It works on my xz1c with the OTG that came with my z3c with a type c adapter on the end of it, but when I go to Device connection and click on USB connectivity it says that "nothing is connected" under USB connection mode, but despite what it says I can use a mouse and read the contents of my USB stick. I haven't tried with a keyboard yet.
