After Lollipop update and the latest Sony Music App Update the Music Volume can not be changed

I installed the Update to Android 5.0.2 supplied by Sony, no rooted phone or custom ROM installation.

On my phone there is no battery drain or memory leak problem, instead the phone runs longer with the advanced Stamina features.

But there are two problems:

  1. The phone stops downloading E-Mails after a few days over 3G or 4G connections, only a reboot solves this problem. This problem looks like a Lollipop related problem.
  2. Music played with the Music (former Walkman) App or the Google Play Music App is always on maximum volume (on the internal speaker and the headphone jack, did not test over Bluetooth connection yet), and the volume buttons only move the slider but this does not change the volume. This is realy anoying, as I use the phone as my portable music player. This problem appeared after the Update of the Walkman App to the Music App, the Walkman App did not include this bug.

Has anyone the same problem? Rebooting the phone does not solve the audio volume problem. I have installed the latest versions of the Sony Music App and the Google Play Music App. Is this a known bug that will be fixed?

@uliwooly So, did some testing and it looks like it is the Sony Music App (former named Walkman). Every time I pause the playing of a podcast or music and lock the phone, the next time I continue playing the volume is stuck at full and the volume controls dont work anymore. Only solution getting them back is to reboot the phone in safe mode. When using the Google Play Music App this does not happen and the volume controls work fine.

Do you mean I would have to re-download the software? Because that would cost me more data and money expenses. Or is there a way I can reinstall it from my phone?
Thanks

@Gerhard-Z1Compact

Settings > apps > all > music/walkman > uninstall updates > test it > then update the app

@nelogid

You need to use either a PC or a Mac to reinstall Lollipop.

Hi, after updating to the new lollipop android software, my phone started hanging and slow in performance, I was advised to re-download which I did and now my camera doesn't come up most times, and it says 'unfortunately, calendar storage has stopped working ' and my photo album was in disarray plus the systems is somehow slow.
Pls I need a solution as soon as possible.
Thanks

By re-download, do you mean you did a phone repair process via PC Companion?
