Battery drain

Running stock Lollipop, 5.0.2

Something happened last week with GooglePlayServices.
It's in the toplist of battery consumption, running up to 20-30%
I have no new apps besides all updates through Play Store...

I have tried to deactivate GooglePlayServices and reinstall without success.

Have not tried facrory reset and is not happy if I need to do it.

Any ideas?

That's the problem, since Lollipop it's a major update, there are new updates all the time, this is creating this issue, disable this feature > restart your phone > check again.

Are you auto-updating apps?

Yes, at least some of them.
But I also check the updates manually almost every day Slightly_smiling_Face

Though the power consumption shows that GoogleServices and/or AndroidOS drains the battery it probably isn't. E.g. WhatsApp won't allow the phone sleep, and there no 'polling' frrequncy settings, there for WsA should not allow to execption of Stamina. Same phenomenon hanppen with the email, when it is in Push-mode.

I don't have WhatsAp, neither push mail.
I do have Facebook and messenger.

Anyway, now 2 hours later, Google Play Service is up to 25%

@Goateye

Facebook is one of the worse if not the top battery hog app

Open google plus, menu > settings > auto backup > is it on?

Yes, it´s on. And I do want to have it on and has always had it on.

I have more like this, i.e. Call recorder with auto update, BackupToGmail with auto update, Facebook, My Tracks, Google Fit and many more.

But no new App. It has been like this for long time, bute the problem is since a few days ago.

Anyway, I promised to give feedback before. And here is one;

6 hours later. After disabling Auto Update at Google Play, restart and 100% charge.

Google Play Service has a battery usage of 22%, top of the line.

My Tracks is on second place, 20%, after a few hours outdoor activities.

But the best part - it indicates that I have 40 hours left!!

If it is so - I will definitely stop whining Slightly_smiling_Face
