Please note that I am on a Sony Z3
running Android 5.0.2 on my phone and never had an issue previously
I have a bluetooth device which used to be paired to my phone
However the device will no longer pair
When I try to connect the device
via the App for it, I get the following error
Couldn't pair with xxxx Because of an incorrect PIN or Passkey
The problem with this is THE DEVICE Does not have a method to input a passkey or pin
And it has NEVER asked for one in the past.
I have already tried restarting the phone
Uninstalling and installing the app for the device
and nothing works'
In fact to make things worse when I try to view the device via Bluetooth devices on the phone it does not show up on the list of devices
However If I use an iPHONE, I can see the device in the list of bluetooth devices
Which is suggesting that this is an ISSUE with the Bluetooth for the Sony Z3 on Android 5.0.2
Please advise ASAP as I how have a USELESS device thanks to the Sony z3
Go settings - system - Reset Options
Select Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
Reconnect the bluetooth device - works for me
Hi there, I have the same issue, I am trying to pair it with Bose Quietcomfort 35 II bluetooth wireless noise cancelling headphone
You say no duplicate questions but I feel you never answered the question correctly. How do I get my android phone to pair with the Tile when it's asking for a pin but no where to put the pin. Settings-apps-all-smartconnect-clear-data-restart phone does not work. Once I hit 'all apps' it just gives me option to disable. No 'smart connect'. Could you be more clear with your remedy?
Go to the app manager and select view services then clear the data in everything that has the name bluetooth in it.
Had same issue. This is what worked for me
1. Go to Settings > Backup and Reset > Network settings reset.
2. Tap on Reset Settings option
3. Now try to connect the Bluetooth device again.
This won't help for headphones but to connect to my win7 pc I had the same problem, I got it working by going into bluetooth device control (click show bluetooth devices from the system tray icon on the taskbar, click on your phone) scroll down to authorization options and select always from the options, new devices will still have to pair with an ok from the pc but then auto connect.
That worked for me! After a long time that I have been looking for a solution finally found it! Thank you!
Thanks, resetting worked for me.
