Headphone problems

I have a recurrent headphone problem on my Z1.

After a system reset, it works fine, but just a few days or a week later it stops noticing when i insert my headphones. When this has happened, i can not use the radio ( NO antenna) and it always plays music in The speaker.

I have reset the device three Times. Every time the reset has made it work ok for a few days, but then the problem has reoccured.

I have a lot of music on my 128GB memory card (almost 13000 songs, my whole Cd collection) if this could be involved. I have tried with storing the music in both mp3 and m4a formats, btw. Same thing.

Hi, there have been quite a few people who have said that since the 4.4.4 update they have had headphone problems.....do a SEARCH & have a read of some of the posts, doesn't affect everybody tho which is strange...could be a coincidence but not really sure Thinking_Face

Keep your eyes (or ears :smileylaugh:) out for the problem occuring again & keep us upto date :smileysmileythumbsup:

Hi, its def not a card problem.......what headphones do you use, have you tried others & did the problem occur since the 4.4.4 update as a lot of people are having headphone problems since the update?

I take it when this problem happens you check the phone socket for dirt etc.......try turning the headphone socket round whilst its playing also Slightly_smiling_Face

Yes, I have of course tried with different headphones, and connecting / disconnecting, turning, etc,. Almost everything except dipping the connector in vaseline... Nothing helps except a full device reset.

I am always trying to run the latest software, so yes, I am running 4.4.4. Not sure when that version was released, but this problem has occured since this autumn, I think. My first reset was approximately in september 2014.

Hi, do you have the correct headphone selected in Sound - Audio settings - Headphones.........also try going into Settings - Apps scroll right to All then down to Headphone selection and either try Clear cache or even try Force stop....

Worth a try :smileysmileywink:

Hmm... This was weird. I haven't tried using the phone for playing music for a few days (for the reasons above), and now that I connect them they work again...

Good I guess, but why... And when will it reappear again...?

You said there was a known problem in 4.4.4? Is that fixed in any recent update?
