Lollipop charging bug ???

After lolipop update I can't charge the phone to full, i already made a clean setup via pc companion after i resetted the phone.
My phone goes to 84% and starts blinking charging/notcharging, so finally after 10 h of charging it has only 85% of accu. Anyone had the same?

P.S i can charge my mobile while its turned of ..
Also im sure there are no apps is consuming the battery while im charging it .


Please fix this with an update or just tell is what to do..

About 3 months ago I have discovered that using shorter or better qualtiy USB cables can solve the charging issue, and I have posted my findings in this tread.

Recently I have bought some new cables which guaranteed charing power of 2.1A, and found out that no matter what wall charger I used now, my phone can always charged up to 100%.

Using "AIDA64" app to find out the actual charging rate (which is introduced by someone who posted in this tread), I foiund out that my 2.1A cables can always charge at the rate of 700-900mA, while most of the cables I used in the past can only reach 400-500mA, which end up making my Z3 Compact charging stuck at 75-83%.

Therefore, in my case, the conclusion is, if my charger and USB cables can give me charging rate of 700mA, I will have no problem charging to 100% for my Z3 Compact.

@ararfeh198 i have the kitkat firmware 4.4.2 and i flashed it with flashtool ... My phone connect to pc normaly but the only issue i faced it the charger not charge normally in lollipop only ... Kitkat working good and dont have any issues ... Charging normally .. No lagg .. Speed .... Try to search another firmware on sites and download it then flash it with flashtool ... But download the true firmware for your country

I have read all the instructions given for going backwards but it is not very helpful as there is so much contradictory information.

I have a Sony Z Tablet SGP311A1/B according to the info on the of it.  on the bottom is also a bunch of stuff, a made in china a SN barcode and then another barcode that starts wtih 1100 but nothing lets me know what the IMIE number is. Do I even need it ? Attached is that scan. I hope I am not screwing myself with it. My email address is bm069au AT gmail DOT com

At current there are multi versions of Flashtool... I have flashtool-0.9.18.1-windows and flashtool-0.9.18.6-windows

One version did not mention my Sony Z but the other versions do not say what they support, just links to download. how frakin helpful... So what version of flashtool to I need?

Now for the TFT file.. the only one I can find is SGP311_10.5.1.A.0.283_DE clearly for Denmark but I am in Australia. will that work or will I have language and multiple problems with my device ?

Scrap that... Avast just told me flash tool 18.6 had a nasty trojan virus and moved it to the chest. So version 18.1 wants to install by default to C:\Flashtool

Do I need to unlock my device with the mystery IMEI ?

So please for the love of all things dont make fun of me, tell me what I need to do now, to get my tablet back to 4.4.4. telling me it might work is not reasuring as I cannot afford to own a sony brick.

I am running windows 7 64bit Pro. so that is my directory structure.

I will owe you if you can just give me some step by step instructions on how to get my tablet back to 4.4.4.

I can normally work most things out but I cannot for the life of me work this out. I am not a noob but I am also 50 years old so give an old guy a break 🙂

You got 32 bits and 64 bits flashtool. 0.9.18.5 builddate 15/02/2015

you DONT need to root your device, just flash your tab/phone

But befure that first save the old files, just as described on the same links i gave

If the denmark version doesnt work, you always can got back to lollipop.

It's easy and done in 5 minutes....

@bm069au Flashtool has nothing what so ever to do with Sony so if you have an issue with that program then speak to the creators and as for firmware then that is members on XDA that have added that firmware to Flashtool for use - Most of us head over to XDA and look for the firmware or there are other sites which will have a list of firmwares - and it's .ftf no .tft

Well the Antivirus scanner did a boot time scan and said both version of the sony software had root kit virusus in it, one for android and one of PC so they are both gone now. The latest version on the site does not mention the Z phone... look at the site.  When I tried to install the latest verion it was instantly deleted by AVAST Which triggered the boot time scan.

I am a bit concerned about loading a virus onto my Tablet.  Did anyone else get this problem ?

I was really polite in my email. I know you are full of smarts but it would be nice not to be so brief and condescending to people who are clearly not as understanding of the process as you.

Ok so lets run with this..

there are two tools I see on the market. Flashtool and Emma. Emma wants to be registered and all kinds of crap.

Flashtools I installed is version flashtool-0.9.19.0-windows and I also installed the drivers for the SGP311 which all works.

Now... Where do I put this monster file SGP311_10.5.1.A.0.283_DE.ftf ?? and do I just hit the lightening bolt button to start the flash ?

Terrified of making a brick.

It is now telling me I must have an FSC script but when I google that, nothing comes up. Booting with volume up is fast boot which gives me lots of options.. booting with volume down puts me in flash mode... so I got that right.

According to this it wanted unrestricted access to install misc apps.. I did that. I also put it into Dev mode and turned on debugging.

All done so now what do I do ?

you dont need emma, just flashtool

may be you got the wrong ftf file, this one should suite your device, in case the device is bricked, just reload lollipop

--> dont unlock the bootloader, your warranty is void doing so, and there is no need to do so
