I did a backup, as suggsted by PCC, before repairing my Xperia Z.
The repair worked perfectly.
But now, everytime I choose the .dbk-file, and press "restore", PCC gets stuck.
Some usage of Google later I learn that you shouldn't use the backup and restore function of PCC that Sony specifically gives you to use it for ...
WHAT THE **bleep**?
I need my contacts back, I need my SMS back, I need my Apps and WhatsApp logs back.
I realized that I'm way to dependant on this bull**bleep**, gonna use cloud sotrage by literally ANY OTHER PROVIDER BUT SONY from now on.
Thanks in advance.

Been there, done that.
First of all, there is no "Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport" in my .dbk, only ".android.socialphonebook" and ".android.localcontacts".
Furthermore, as soon as everything is set up on my desktop as described, I press the .jar-file and absolutely nothing happens.
End of story, another dead end.
I already contaced the author of this post, but didn't get any reaction so far.
How large is the backup file? Usually this occurs for large files.
It's 23.5 GB
Now that's large. I usually tell people to avoid backing up through PCC when it comes to media files. Keep it simple: messages, contacts etc. Media files are better if manually copied somewhere.
I know that now, but surely Sony would provide me the necessary information beforehand, since not everyone uses backups every other day and has some experience with them.
Right?
Or they show a Warning if the backup file will become too big for their own programm to restore it.
Right?
Or they display a notification that it's not really necessary to backup any external storage since it's not affected by the flashing at all.
Right?
I am sorry but I do not know exactly why it hangs at larger files. You could try to rename the file to .zip or .rar and try to extract some of the files.
Yeah already tried that but phoneMiner is complete garbage and the Sony Erricson PC Suite must've been a bad joke.
Also, for my contacts alone I need some .vcf-file so I could at least try to import them, only renaming the .dbk to .zip doesn't bring me aything since the fullbackupdata-files are all completely useless without converting them into some other file.
You got any ideas?
See if this helps:
