Potential Water Damage

Hi all

Today I took Sony Xperia Z3 outside into the pool area, however I did not actually submerge the phone in the pool. I had it resting on top of my towel and once I left the pool I walked to the towel to dry off. To be clear, I had already closed the flaps on the side tightly in case water did happen to fall and slip inside. However some water from my hair dropped onto the phone and from the point the touch screen did not work. Several minutes later the phone no longer responded and the screen would not turn on after several attempts to. I have viewed the litmus paper inside the slot and it has a yellow tint to it.

Clicking the unlock button does nothing and neither does double tapping the screen to unlock (I have this active).

So far the device will respond when I hold the power and volume buttons down to reset it. I can feel the vibration but nothing happens. The LED at the top left corner will occasionally flicker red and it would flicker blue or white for my Facebook or email notifications.

I have read other threads and tried some potential solutions however nothing seems to work.

Anyone have any idea what could have happened? I have a feeling it is broken but not entirely sure what from since the Litmus Paper is not a pink or red colour.

Thanks

Sorry to hear this but you need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

i accidentally drop my z3 dual in the water when i was about to take a bath, and i know that all port was closed, i took my phone from the water, after 1 min. the sceen is getting white, I switch it off  and i waited for 2 min. to turn it on, when i turn in on its working fine. After that i place my phone in the safe place to continue my bath. After 30 min. I try to unlock my phone but its not working. I thought its battery is low, so I plug my charger in, then red light indicator is working and once again I turn it on but still its not working.

After that i return my z3 dual in store where i bought it, then they told me that they will send my phone in their service so, i waited for 2 weeks. Then after that i called them to know whats going on. Then then they told me that, my phone is not gonna work due to water got inside my motherboard. And then they cannot fix it because motherboard is not covered by the warranty, so they told me to send it to sony company and complain.

Now my question is, if i send my phone in any of Sony Branch, would they fix or change my motherboard?

Hi

I simply sent mine into Optus (My ISP) and they replaced it for free since it was in the 30 day period. If yours isn't they will most likely charge you for a repir/replacement depending on how it was actually damaged.

Cheers
