Sony PC Companion with Z3 issue on Windows 8.1

When I connect my Z3 with Windows 8.1 PC via USB, the phone asks wheather I want to install the software on my PC. I say 'Yes' but never install anything on my PC or do nothing.

Then I discovered the download from Sony Xperia Care and installed on my PC. I followed the instruction, but when the wireless connection setup asks the phone to connect to the WIFI then the phone is unable to connect. It's weird because WIFI network is connected but it's unable to connect to the PC companion via Wireless Media Transfer under USB Connectivity setting.

I'm wondering the PC companion with Z3works for others?

I was about to give up with SONY software then installed an app called WiFi Connect so I can connect to my PC wirelessly. After I connected to my PC with the app I spotted a file which name is same as my WiFi network name on the internal storage and it's 0K in size and created just earlier. I assumed it must be an orphan and left after unsuccessful connection establishment with SONY PC Companion, then I deleted. A minute later, I saw my SONY PlayMemories was running on my PC and importing media files from my phone. Then I checked the connection and found PC is connected to the phone wirelessly via WiFi connection. What a weird experience and can't explain, but it works for now.

do you have any firewall or antivirus that might be blocking it?

I have McAfee VirusScan installed on my PC but I turned it off when PC and phone are establishing the connection. I doubt I should turn off the Windows Firewall as well to connect the phone, anyway I'll try that way later. Thanks for your reply.

No luck. It doesn't work. Still it could not connect. Too bad.

I cannot find that app (WiFi Connect). Can you provide a link?
