Sigh... third phone in a year which has touchscreen/display problem. My Z5 just stopped working 11 months old, it was laying on the table, wanted to send message, touchscreen completely dead. Thank god, there is still waranty. Hopefully I can manage to backup some phone number with an OTG cable that will arrive tomorrow.
But, hey Sony, I had an Xperia T with an LCD that just stopped, have an Z3C with the infamous touchscreen issue (fixed in warranty), and now my Z5. Neither of the three phones ever was dropped and all are/were in pristine condition.
Sorry... had to complain a little
On the other hand, my spare Sony Ericsson K750i is still working after 11 years
What type of problem are you having with the touchscreen? Can you see the screen but not touch anything? Or is the screen totally blank? Is it similar to the problem described in this thread?
My phone is still in warranty too but I'm having problems figuring out how to send to China for repairs (my fault for buying an international unlocked phone). How did you get your Z3C fixed under warranty?
Hi @Antoine1,
I am sorry to hear that you've been experiencing these issues.
Your Local support team should be able to help you get this resolved, hopefully you don't have any more issues like this.
Good luck.
Hi Kurt,
Everything is working, even the fingerprint reader, touchscreen is completely dead, responds to nothing, nowhere. Display is fine.
My Z3C (work phone) got the problem that the touscreen get unresponsive on the outer edges. I sent mine back to "mediamarkt", where my company bought it for me. Sony fixed it and returned it in 4 days. Kudos for service!
So my own phone Z5 is going back to Sony, now with another shop. But it will eventually end up at the same repaircentre. It's predescessor died in a similar way.
I'm really dissapointed a little in these high end phones from Sony, problem is, I really don't like Samsung (nothing to say about Apple), so what else is there, with the nice calm and restfull interface as an Xperia has.
CameronT, as soon as I can reset the phone (need OTG cable first), I'll send it back.
Thank you Antoine. Sounds different than my problem. Best of luck getting it resolved.
Just crazy, phone came back to life by itself. Connected to USB OTG cable with a mouse, which worked fine, accidently touched the screen and it came back to life, then it stopped, came back to life, stopped again, and now it working fine for 5 days. Which also kinda bad because now it isn't usefull to send it back to Sony
Anyway... for now the problem seems to be solved.
And it died again, and came back to life again after a certain "totally sick of it" throw on the table. Am I the only one who has this issue? Problem is that, while under warranty, sending back to the shop has absolutely no use, since it'll work for sure when in the repairshop.
Hi,
I also have a touchscreen problem with Xperia Z5P Dual. It started when I over used my phone for gaming. The first time it happen, the whole screen starts to become unresponsive. Then, it will be solve temporarily by turning the screen off and on again (using power button).
Then after a few days, it seems worse than before. My phone started acting weird, touching the screens multiple times on different but specific locations (a line somewhere between the power button and the volume button).
I started my phone in safe mode but it still happens. Found it hard to power on/off since it automatically touches part of the screen which makes it hard to enter pincode/password.
After some reboots (twice) and 2 days power off, the "automatic" touch has been gone and a new problem arise.
Now, touching that part of the screen is the problem.
(sorry for necroing this post ) my z5 this morning had problems with the touchscreen
the touchscreen is dead in a 1ish cm line from the middle of the volume button to the other side of the screen completly blocking me from using my pattern lock's bottom row to unlock my phone so i am now locked out
