Watter damaged xperia z1 compact, service didn't aproach correctly

Hi, recently my xperia z1 compact leaked some watter (all flaps were sealed) and my power button stopped working correctly. I took my phone to have the warranty covered, but instead of taking the vacuum test, like I read in some topics here, they opened the phone and returned it back to me for "inproper use". after complaining they accepted to take a second look and show it to sonymobile, but I am worried since they already opened the phon. That the vacuum test won't be legit anymore. What should I do?

The only thing i can suggest is to contact them & ask for a specific reason why they did not do the test, for example did they not have the neccessary equipment to do the test, & note your concerns as mentioned here. Ask if they do send it to Sony to let them inspect your phone if they will mention that they stripped the phone first.........the reason i asked about cracked glass was that they would not do the test if there was apparent damage already....

So get in touch with them & good luck :smileysmileythumbsup:

Hi, if they opened the phone up to check for damage WITHOUT doing the Vacuum Test first then you are correct.......it would be near impossible to determine if it would have failed the test Thinking_Face

Did they actually say that they did not do the test.......was there any damage to the handset for example a cracked screen front or back when you gave it to them, i would want to know why they did not do the test........not good Slightly_frowning_Face

there was no damage except for some scratches on the screen and back. Also the watter indicators were marked, all of them. And yes, they just said that it was improper use and returned it back...

Okay, now i brought back my phone to the authorized service center and they didn't even know what the vacuum test was. Now I am worried...
