Xperia Z3 Compact reboots when receiving call

Hi there dear people,

I'm from the netherlands and english is not my native language so my apologies for any spelling mistakes.

Feel free to

My mother is using a brand new Xperia Z3 compact up-to-date and all is well exept for the fact that the phone reboots itself after trying to answer a call. I've seen one topic about this problem without any solution.

I've turned it back to factory settings twice now. And tried the on/off button with volumebutton up, resulting in 3 vibrations and turned it on. This is suppose to reset the cache or something?

Please give me some tips or the solution.

The last thing that needs to be done for now is maybe a new sim-card. Other than that, help and suggestions are welcome.

Thank you very much in advance.

Niels

If it happens again, get a brand new nano SIM card

Things to try, boot on safe mode do you experience the same reboots?

You could also repair the phone with PCC

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

Hi @NielsV

Welcome to the community

I would suggest running a software repair on the handset, give it a try to see .

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:

  1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
  2. Phone Software Update.
  3. Start.
  4. Repair Phone
  5. Continue
  6. Accept data removal
  7. Next
  8. Wait for prepare
  9. Select Phone
  10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:

  1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
  2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
  3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
  4. Select Continue on the following page.
  5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.

6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears

  1. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

You will want to start these processes with the phone powered off and disconnected from the PC.

Even after the reset to factory settings and on a clean 5.0 version this problem occurs.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have much time to test it all out right now but I tried safemode, and then I called this phone.

The first two attempts the phone rings twice and then hangs up by its own. The third try I got a connection. Weird!

How old is the SIM card? is it a NANO SIM card or did you trimmed it?

I'm not sure how old it is. I guess my mother got her new simcard with her phone two months ago but she also could still be using her old simcard from the iPhone 4, I believe it is a NANO.

I did the repair like John said and did have much time for testing but I called once and there were no problems thus far.

Will get back to you guys when it happens again.
