z3 blank screen after turned on!

I have a Z3, recently when I turn the phone on after being turned off the phone displays the home screen for a split second then goes blank with only the back button visible. I can lock the screen and change the volume but nothing else. The phone stays like this for 3-4 hours then returns to normal. I've taken to just not turning it off but this can't be permenant, running out of battery, etc. Thanks, if anyone knows of a solution please help.

Try this, but you'll loose your homescreen customization in the process:

- Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Xperia Home -> Clear data and restart your phone.

If you find the problem still persisting, I'd suggest that you do a PC Companion phone repair, this will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory.

Open PC companion -> Support zone -> Phone/tablet software update -> Repair my phone/tablet (blue link style). Follow the steps given, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

Thanks for your help and sorry it took me so long to reply. Although I don't think the phone is working entirely correctly it is a definite improvenent. As instructed I cleared the data in my xperia home. It still takes 10 minutes to start after turning on and displays the previously mentioned "blank screen", but its far better then the 4 hour wait I had before.

Thabks for the help.
