The cons of a 4k oled screen

I'm one of those people who believe you can see the difference of 4k on a smartphone. It's a part of the reason I had a XZP and now the Xperia 1. What this also means is that I tend to notice the tiniest scratch or irregularity very quickly.

Already had the luck that one single grain of sand in my pocket put a 2,5cm microscopic scratch in the middle of the screen on the day I got the phone. But I just noticed a very very slight white-ish horizontal line across the screen. Probably burn in, can't tell for sure. I use my phone way too much so I'm probably among the first to experience it too, but man what a bummer. I can't help noticing it now and together with that microscopic scratch I'm not thinking woah BT2020 color accuracy 4k cinema 21:9 wide display with true black oled. But I'm thinking , wish the screen was still perfect and it can only get worse

Defeats a bit of the purpose having such a special display when the burn in will eventually spoil it. I thought it wouldn't really happen before I already would be looking to change phones again instead of this early since release. I never noticed my XZP getting worse over time, a tiny 2mm scratch 1,5 years into using it but not the display itself. 

I wouldn't know what phone would have a better display anyways, but it's just the fact this display was built to show how the creator intended it. 

Might be another defect but I don't think there's any way to tell yet and it took a dark room to notice it.

I can too, some can't, or say they can't until Apple or Samsung will eventually put it on a phone, then everyone will suddenly gain spectacular vision.

In regards to scratches. I've found some screen protectors have adhesive that "fills" the scratch giving a perfect looking display again.

In fact gorilla glass 6 is scratch magnet.

I Hope sony finally resign from gorilla glass and will use scratch resistant materials...

Won't happen any time soon, not as long as thinner and lighter are what manufacturers look for, scratch resistance is second and hasn't improved in years, it's nearly impossible to do.

more and more time passes better this screen looks, I have compared to others and those look like worn.

I recommend this tempered glass is so thin that it does not look and protects the screen

I don't think your white line is a oled burn in thing.

Oled are a bunch of green, red, and blue organic led stacked together. The only wear they can have, is due to the longevity of these led. Since blue have a lifetime half the one of green and red, a burn in an oled screen will happen when a part of the screen is more used and the blue oled became less powerfull, giving a yellowish tint to this part of the screen.

For example, having a black bar for a year at the bottom of your screen because of the android navigation button will preserve the led in this part, and when you display a white screen in full screen, you will see that at the location of the black bar, the screen is blueish (less yellowish). I got this on all my previous smartphone with OLED screen. Also, blueish content like almost every manufacturer phone wallpapers will make things worse. More appealing to eye, but not good for your oled screen longevity.

A white line means that all the oled (r, g and b) in this line are permanently turned on, so it's really not due to an over use, more like a problem in the panel controller. Maybe you should consider returning your phone for a check up at a repair store.

Bad luck for your scratch, that's the reason I avoid putting anything with a screen in my pockets, those things are just always filled with dust/sand and is a nightmare for screens.
