no access privilege to edit using PlayMemoriesHome

I have been using PMH for 12 years to edit and move photos between folders. Over the past few months I have been unable to move into folders as I get message "Cannot move as do not have required access privilege" How do I correct this? I am using an Alpha A58 camera

Hello @phwrigh10,

for me PlayMemories Home let's me select the import location every time I import photos or videos.

Can you please describe your exact process of importing the photos (from connecting the camera jntil you run into the issue you are describing)?

I have successfully down loaded the same photos to my laptop and are able to move and edit them. Still no change on PC where I do all my work and have stored 1000's of photos!

I have been into 'properties' but cannot see anywhere to make adjustments.

Action to download photos:

1)I turn on PMH & connect camera then turn it on

2)message pops up "do you want to see options - 'yes'

3) I click 'import media files'

4)I click 'browse' so I can place photos into required folder

5) but - recently when I try and select the required folder, 'ok' is greyed out and only place allowed is Desktop.

Once in Desktop it will not allow me to move either original or an edited version of the file into the required folder.

I am also unable to edit any of my existing photos as I get the message "cannot move into x folder you do not have access privileges"

Have you tried running the program as Administrator or check your anti-virus settings? I had a similar issue with a game I was playing that kept restarting from the beginning as if I never saved once, turns out Windows Defender has a feature called Controlled folder access, which basically made it so the game couldn't access any folder. So maybe check that too.
