Just upgraded TV to android 8 anybody now how to stop apps running in background used to be hold home button but it doesn't work now

Yes it is a function that Google has eliminated from Oreo.

1. Hold down Home to bring up the apps drawer.

2. Scroll over to the misbehaving app and hold down the select button (middle button of d-pad).

3. Pick "Info"

4. Pick "Force Stop"

5. Pick "OK"
