BDV-E4100 blu-ray fan noise

BDV-E4100 blu-ray fan noise

Hi everyone

I bought a BDV-E4100 home cinema setup a week ago. I've been trying to live with the fan noise since then, but I've finally given up, so it looks like it's going back. I'm curious to know if - is faulty, or if the fan noise is pretty standard? Thanks in advance...

Hi wateroftyne,

Welcome to the community.

I'm just going to see if I can find out anything. Another community member might have some ideas in the meantime though.

Thanks,

Pascale

Hi wateroftyne,

Well, I think reasonable noise can be expected, but if the Noise is more than usual, I'd say consult your point of sale.

Cheers,

No, it's not ... I had the same problem, it turned out to be incorrect assembly and vibration of the fan. It's very quiet now. Unfortunately, they are munched by unqualified people.

Hello! I have a SONY E 6100 home cinema and unfortunately I have the same problem: the noise of the fan. From the technical data we found out that the fan has a noise of 27dB. Pretty big. I'm trying to buy another fan with a noise below 20dB.

It's unfortunately part of the design. These players get too hot without active airflow. One thing that can make it worse is dust build up, so keeping the unit relatively clean is the most effective kind of action you can do aside from swapping out the fan, which I'm sure will void the warranty btw.

Hi! We solved the problem of fan noise. I replaced the fan with another model quieter than 12.3 dB. The procedure is relatively simple and does not require special knowledge. Otherwise you can buy the fan and then call a specialized service in electronic / IT components.

Necessary products:
- fan (5Euro - No shipping fees);
- two/four clamping screws M3x30 or similar;
- two-pin connector or the one installed on the fan to be replaced can be reused.

Have you noticed any issues since doing the mod? How can you be sure it provides enough airflow?

We did not find any changes. The air volume is 9.3 m3 / h compared to the old fan - 9.5 m3 / h.
The new fan works practically without noise. Old fan 26 dB, new fan - 12 db.

That's very cool, pun intended :grin:

Good job @toby98
