Thanks for the review. I’ve ordered this as an alternative to my HT-ST5000 which broke down and is no longer repairable by SONY and no longer have any stock to replace it with. Never happy with ST5000 for the money and ATMOS effects were non existent. I will hopefully get a decent sound from the G7000 for less than half the price of the ST5000.

I never had a chance to listen to HT-ST5000, but I think HT-G700 might be a bit below it. Especially on the feature side. As for Atmos, it creates quite a good effect, but still, it's virtualized, so don't keep your expectations too high!

 

For the money, HT-G700 sounds impressive. I would love to see how it looks to you.
