4K models (equipped with Twin Tuner) Allowing you to watch and schedule multiple channels simultaneously.

Event Duration Extension

Extend the time before and after the recording time of your selected programme. For example, extending the start time by 5 minutes and end time by 10 minutes for a programme between 16:00-17:00 shown on the electronic programme guide (EPG), will record from 15:55-17:10 - displayed on the Timer List.

Event Duration Extension

Event Duration Extension - start and end time

Event Duration Extension - disable, 5 min or 10 min

IMPORTANT:
If two sequential programmes are set to record, and the Event Duration Extension causes an overlap, the earlier programme will have priority. For example: if the user sets the timer for a programme at 16:00-17:00 and another at 17:00-18:00, using the same timings, the first programme will be recorded between 15:55-17:10 and the second programme between 17:10-18:10.

What is the defualt HDD parental lock PIN for my android TV KDL-43W805C?

Having waited 9 months for the USB HDD recording to work, I have just recorded a couple of programs, but it asks for a PIN for me to view the recordings, I have no recolection of setting up a PIN. I've tried the usual PIN number I would have set, but nothing seems to work. How do i reset the parental lock PIN?

My tv recordings on my 55x8005c all turn out jerky or a bit stuttery. Annoyingly I can't find a single instance of anyone reporting the same thing so I'm clueless about it. It happens on usb sticks,  wd drives, my passport drives, everything. I've tried every single setting on the tv and they're all jerky and not smooth. Moving the motion setting to 4 helps a little bit with the jerkiness but at that high it then makes motion look generally odd. Motion setting isn't needed at all on live tv.  I'm hoping someone like quinnicus can give any sort of help on this but I'd welcome any comments or suggestions. Thanks very much.

I am encountering the same issue as Garymjh in that test recording I have done all have a slight and subtle jerkiness to them, as if a random frame was being dropped every few 10's of milliseconds. Its very subtle but does render the recording feature useless for enjoyment of recorded material. The effect is  the same whether its an HD or SD channel.

TV is a new KD43XD8305 running the latest firmware.

Finally someone else has the same problem. I think I'll have to send mine in for assessment/repair as there's no way I could sell it with the micro stutters on the usb recording facility. There's no chance of Sony even addressing this issue when, as far as I know, we're the only two people who've even noticed it.

I have started a new thread in the Android TV forums:

https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/usb-recordings-are-jerky-when-played-back/td-p/2271707

I have a feeling thit problem is almost certainly a problem with the functionality of the operating system and/or firmware rather than something that can be repaired at a component level. Whether a fix or solution can be found remains to be seen.

What a let down Sony. Bought a new Android set but you can't record from the youview tuner. To use the hard disk recording feature you need to exit youview and retune to Freeview. Last Sony set for me.

I would have thought the YouView question was down to licensing.

Does any manufacturers TV with USB record capability and that has YouView allow recording?

This might be the parental control/parental lock PIN, I believe the default is 1234.
