Same old gripe, sony vs ipod. Ipod have over 600 accessories, including a new BMW to go with one. What do sony have for the Viao pocket?, you can't get a leather case for love nor money, answer to above question, What do sony have for the Viao pocket?, nowt!!!
Hmm, the connector on the cradle looks quite intricate to say the least. From the voltage point of view, I think any 5.2V charger would do it - to save having too many cables around, I use my TomTomGo charger for the VP as well - plugs straight into the back of the cradle, no probs. This means I can charge the VP in the car as well.... but I'd just like to get rid of that clumsy cradle!
I'm sure there must be a DIY way involving a screwdriver and a multimeter, but it would probably result in the death of a cradle in the interests of scientific research

I wonder if it shares the same connector as any other Sony product - Clie maybe?? I don't have my cradle here with me, and it's so hard to tell from pictures on web sites.
Hmmm.....
Finally someone has made one for VP?
WOW – Loads of stuff here about the VP including a discussion about possible alternative charging cables etc.

Includes some fantastic internal shots of the cradle – which is MUCH MORE COMPLEX than I though. It’s stuffed full of components and circuitry and obviously maks the cradle much more than just a holder for the VP.
I don’t think that there is any way just a cable will charge the VAIO
I assume most of the electronics is related to the USB handling though - as a hub and as a slave device. The charging part should be simple, but the connector looks pretty fiddly I must confess.....
Wonder if the PSP has anything useful on it - does that use a cradle??
