Hi
I have a new SONY VAIO A215M notebook and a problem with my network:
I want to connect the notebook with my PC with a cross over direkt connetion cable.
I can open the folder "Network connection" and than press the button "new connection" there i press the link "create a new connection" (the lowest button) and now my problem:
I want to activate the lower button named: "create a direct connection with a computer" but i can´t!!!!! It is written in grey and not black!!!
I have no idea how i can change that so that i can press that button. I tried that with 6 other PC it worked with everyone just mine not!!!!
(Sorry for my worse english )
But i hope that there is someone who knows what to do?!?!??!
Have you ran the home networking wizard?
Hi thanks for your answer!!!
But yes i tried it with the networking wizard but without any positiv result!
The problem still is that i can not actvate the button " create a direct connection to an other PC"!!!!
If you have an other idea?!?!
I would be very thankfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm I'm sure I didn't have to do that when I liked my friends VAIo to his old workstation....
Hi,
Did you check if both computers use the same workgroup name?
You can check it out by rightclicking "My Computer" then click "Properties".
Then it should be a tap that says "Computername".
Check your network ID there.
Hope it works.
Hi there
I know this sounds a bit stupid, but, have you installed the drivers for the network port.
also check that the port is not disabled.
HTH
Brian
p.s have you checked the network software installed by windows xp.
