I've just bought a sony vaio B1VP and it's suppose to have 40GB hard drive but it is already saying that the c drive is running low. I thought it might be because i need to delete the recovery ulity as i have made a back up using 11 disks but i don't know how to do it. Any suggestions?:smileycry:
Harrist,
They are usually partitioned into two (i.e. C: 20 Gb, 😧 20 Gb)
So the C: drive (with Windows etc) It should have around 12 - 15 Gb free!!! (from factory!)
Go into My Computer, right click on the C: drive and select 'properties', what is it reporting?
CW
PS Many users are unaware that computer manufactures quote GB as 1000 Mb, where in fact they are 1024 Mb, so the when Windows reports the actual drive size it is always less what the manufacturers quote! Nice con eh!!!
The Sony Recovery thingy uses up a few Gb's in a hidden partition as well I believe, so there's a fair chunk missing when it arrives at your door.

Woody,
They seem to be doing it on cheaper models.
