I had problems with other mades of cameras (cannon EOS 30D) so I had a go with my card reader connected to USB "A" and it work OK ! so if your camera is not detected give it a go.I can now take with me , on safari an store my photos with out a P.C. hopfully
I found out about using a card reader on one of the posts in this forum and tried it out with a memory stick reader and worked perfectly, will try it out with a CF reader as soon as I purchase one so I can use with my new Cannon EOS 350D. I go on safari often so bought the vaio pocket as a photo storage device so I don't have to take my laptop with me anymore.
One small complaint; Why couldn't Sony have provide this information? I have wasted valuable battery power on my Sony DSC F707 camera when connected to the VP in the past.
wich card reader do you you use?
mine is too slow, even if it is a USB2.0
I have another one, but it does not work at all:smileycry:
Im confused how did you waste valuable battery power on your camera just by connecting it to your VAIO Pocket?
Hi i used a Dazzle* Zio Hi- speed Universal 10 in 1 Card reader. It can take nearly 30 mins for a 512mb compact flash to down load aprox 140 photos ,with the file Dated on the photo veiwer and it then split into 3 folders when it was opened on my P.C with a few pictures out of order . this was soon fixed by checkihg the date and times of the photos.
I am still confused:smileyconfused:
Hi Febs,
The f707 cannot be connected to the mains whilst downloading to the VP. File transfer is rather slow and if you have used a whole (or more )128mb memory stick it can take an age, all using up battery power on the camera.
Hope that clarifies .
Ye i understand now I misread the post lol I thought you said that it was your VAIO Pocket that you were wasting batterty time with.
Bought a Dazzle compact flash reader USB 2 and took about 6mins to download 128mb (41 photos) to my VP. Then downloaded direct to my PC from the date file on the photo viewer.
It works,great.:smileylaugh:
