Hi.
My Vaio came pre-installed with MSN Messenger vesion 4.07.
Obviously this is well out of date and I need a new upgrade. However, Messenger 4.07 doesn't come with an upgrade link/took and I'm concerned that if I DO download Messenger 7.0 from the MSN site, then I will be stuck with two separate versions of Messenger which will continue to sign each other in and out.
Ideally I'd like to remove the original Messenger from my system but I can't seem to find the folder in which to do it. It's not located under Program Files. Can anyone guide me through this one?
Click
and write down :
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
The Messenger will be deleted. So, you can install the new one.
You little beauty!
If you installed MSN 7.0 it would automaticaly delete all previous versions anyway.
