Volume level increase - possible???

I was thinking if the EU volume restriction, which is set for the hd1 & 3 models, is also set for the VP. I would imagine that it is :anguished:

Therefore, the question is if anyone knows how to deactivate this limitation. It is know how to do it for the hd1 & hd3 (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184051) but the instructions are no good for the VP, as it has different key arrangements etc :smileythinking:

If you ant a decent set of headphones i stongly recomend these. They give excellent bass reproduction and clear sound. The reason Sony has limited the maximum volume is because they dont want us to damage our ears, i mean would you rather listen to loud music or not hear anything at all???By the way all mp3/Atrac3 files sound a little distorted due to the way they are compressed so comparing the VAIO Pocket's soud to that of a Minidisc player is not fair as Minidiscs use no compression.

Wrong minidisc used the very first form of Atrac from the start.

Are you sure i thought they just used no compression.I've never had an MDplayer soi may be wrong.

Minidisc most certainly uses compression, all that is recorded is the top and bottom frequencies of the audio spectrum and nothing in between. Whereas CD's do have all of the frequencies recorded, albeit at a clipped range to what the studio engineer/desk considers to be the ideal range. LP's of course were never subjected to this tampering and as such deliver as close to the original recording as is possible, albeit with the sound reproduction and storage problems that vinyl has.
