If have not tried to clean the adhesive side of a screen protector before, so I don't have any tricks up my sleeve, luckily @Viridis is an expert!
Please follow his recommendation and see if you are able to remove these dust-dots!

Hi @Kw2, I'm sorry to hear about that.
There is a proximity sensor placed at the top part of your screen (just to the right of the Sony logo), which will turn the display off when you are in a call and when you take the phone away from your ear the display should turn on again.
If this sensor is covered by a screen protector or if there is any dirt/moisture on the sensor, the phone will think that the phone call is still active and the display will not turn on before the counterpart has ended the call.
Try cleaning the area of the screen where the sensor is placed with a dry cloth or remove any screen protector on your phone and either make a call and see if you experience the same behaviour or you can perform the inbuilt test in the phone for this sensor.
The test is found in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Proximity sensor.
Let me know if that helps!
