Xz2 compact mail app shows VERY old mails

Hi all, i just got gold of a xz2 compact. I entered my Gmail account details for the mail app. It started syncing mails from 2009, shown as unread.. .after a while it stops. Setting are: sync 50, every 5 minutes.

What is going in?
