Android 4.4.4 rollout

Chances are Sony will skip 4.4.4 for the Z2, and will roll out Android L not long after it's release. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

Has there been any word on Android L for the Z2? Are Sony planning to update the Z2 to L when it is released? If so, have they given a time line?

No word. Obviously since Android L is still in Alpha and under testing by google. But it should come on the Z2. Sony will not comment on this till, probably, Android L becomes an Open Beta.

Hi, I have a Xperia Z2 and my phone's software version is still 4.4.2. Even my Xperia Z Tablet has updated to 4.4.4 recently. I check update center app daily and it says my phone is up to date. I tried updating it from my computer too and that doesn't help either. Why can't I update to 4.4.4? Thanks for helping.

You can't update as 4.4.4 isn't available to the Z2 yet. Chances are that they might skip it and go on to the next version.

I believe we won't get 4.4.4 update in the near future, maybe next year, because if Sony give us the update they can't justify the price for Z3.

any news about the update? Xperia z3 is out so i wonder if sony will pay attenction to our Xperia Z2 anytime soon...

i hope they manage to fix all our bug that after 2 months are still here boring us.....

1) vibration noise when taking a call

2) x-reality option unticked on his own after some minutes

3) overheating issue....

4) double tap to wake that fails to work and need to be performed many times

no software repair or restore factory option solve the issues.... and either safe mode....

Hi, I'm posting this here since we're anyhow talking about updates for the Z2.

I wanted to know if Z2's next update will include the function to move apps to external memory. Sony recently released the kitkat update for T2 with the ability to move apps to external memory. So what are the chances like for Sony to release an update for Z2 that enables this function?

Will they even consider this first of all?

This is the one main reason why I haven't yet purchased Z2 and I'm thinking of Z1. I install only heavy games and the very thought of investing a huge amount on a phone and feeling stuck :smileysilly:, due to insufficient space, is enough for a user like me to not go with this phone.
