Auto rotate not working (Sony Xperia z5 Premium)

Didn't think I would be back so fast, but I have another issue that suddenly started happening.

Checking to see if anyone else has this issue, or if there's a fix,or even if it's a known problem.

My auto-rotate stopped working. Was working fine the last 24 hours, give or take. Which is the duration of how long I've had the device.

I checked all the settings, and googled around, so I restarted my phone, now it works again.

Didn't know about the diagnostic tool until after I rebooted the device and it started working again.

If it stops working, I'll definitely run diagnostics.

But until then; known issue? Anyone else experience the same thing? A permanent fix?

My Z5 is facing the same problem. And it doesn't help when I reboot or shut down the phone.

Seems like this problem is not common enough to gather the attention of Sony.

Did you already receive any updates from the Sony Support regarding the logs / bugs you sent them three weeks ago?

I have just had this same issue where the phone will not rotate no matter what I did, along with phone reset through PCC too.

No I don't, seems Sony has no time to solve this problem. I will have to use my guarantee right to solve this. I think is malfunction on the phone's sensors.

I also have the same issue on Z5 P, after restart is working again for me.

Yes.... I hope it won't failed again... Happens to me. It's not right what we have to restart our phones. And Sony is not doing anything to fix the issues.

I think the sensors of our phones are not right a hardware issue.

Bought my Z5 3 days ago, and no auto rotate. Seems this has been a known issue for a while.
Sony - is this being fixed or should I just return the phone and go back to my Z3 as my regular phone???

I'm sorry that this has taken some time and that you still need to restart the phone sometimes for rotation to work.

We have found the cause for this and it's fixed in the Android 6.0 update.

Thanks - when is 6.0 planned for release and is the adaptive brightness/contrast issue also fixed for the Z5 in that build? Was something I dealt with on my old D6603 that was fixed in 23.4.A.1.264. Just seems the Z5 build .200 has some of the old bugs fixed on the Z3 back in October.

Just wanted to add - restart does nothing on mine, however the accelerometer and gyroscope both work fine when GPS is running. Open up Google maps or the GPS Status app and both sensors are shown to work and the screen will rotate. That said, it's not a great workaround as it only works on apps using GPS. I tried navigation and set it to take me somewhere, came out of maps and went to Chrome or YouTube and still no rotation. Go back to maps or GPS Status and it'll rotate, presumably because those apps use the GPS. If you're in Chrome and it asks for your location and you say yes, it'll rotate as it checks your location through GPS, but you can't get it back.. Weird. Is any of what I've written here been discovered by Sony or others?
