Hi everyone. I have opened a topic about the sound distortion in the beginning of any sound on device. Alexdon[http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/7878] helped me very much. But i have noticed something different.
I did a factory reset and a clean install the latest update. Whenever I receive a message, call, whatsapp message etc. (or something that causes a notification sound or call sound), the sound freezes a bit or some cracking or lag happens just before starting to play. I tested it both with normal boot and safe boot. Is this a hardware or software problem? I need some Sony Stuff to help here. I have read all Xperia Z1 forums and some people have this problem. And it is on my Xperia Z1 Compact. This is a suberb phone and I need some help. Can I really need to go to Sony Service? or Warranty?
And is there anyone who has this problem?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I have the same problem. The sounds notifications ((by the lower speaker) are crackling after upgrading to KK. No matter on JB.
after upgrading to kit kat 757 build the volume of default ringtone named Xperia is decreased and give a cracking sound and more over battery drains very fast,i have also visited sony service centre and upgraded the software again but problem not resolved and service centre executive says it is a manufacturing defect
I am from India and purchased Z1 compact ,kit kat for sony z1 compact is compaletely failed .sony must recall all handsets of z1 compact and should give customers refund
i am planning for legal court case against sony for refund of z1 compact
Hy!
There is no solution? I do not believe it! this is not a hardware problem! Will you please check it! Thank you very much!
I bought my Z1 compact with already 757 firmware built in, however the problem is there!!!!
The phone still functions well, it is just very annoying.
Like a mouse cursor appears when watching a movie.
We have found the cause of this issue and it will be fixed in the next software update for the phone. Thanks for all the details you sent me!

That's great news.
Based on past Sony phone experience, we can expect the fix with release of the Z2 compact
Seriously, what would be interesting is to know how this wasn't noticed in the lab, if you believe these forums pretty much every single person is suffering from this issue the moment they upgraded, how was it missed?
seriously? When will the upgrade? Thanks!
Regarding the update, is there any indication on when this will be released, because I feel this is a big issue with people who feel they're not getting problems fixed by Sony. I've spent over £400 on a Z1 and I want a product that doesnt have silly issues that should have been picked up through the testing process etc.
