fx201 doesnt recognise disk
I have a vaio fx201 and i change the 6gb hd with an 30gb..From the time i disconected the 6gb the laptop doesnt recognize any disk at post.only the combo drive..the disk works fine on a pc via usb box...i have tried flashing bios all versions but i have the same problem..the laptop doesnt recognize at post the 6gb or the 30gb hd..i wonder if the solution is to change the cable from hd to mobo..any ideas???thanks...

Try partitioning your hard disk into 5x6GB
If this doesn't work then maybe the BIOS doesn't support that much space

If your notebook is no longer recognising either the 6Gb or the 30Gb drive then it would appear to be a hardware/cabling problem. I am almost certain that your original BIOS would support 30Gb.
Check that you have not damaged any connector pins during the removal/installation of hard disks and that the cable is correctly aligned and seated. Otherwise, yes, try a new cable.

The cable from disk to mobo can be damaged while the disk sounds like working?(of course doesnt been recognized in bios)
