I was listening to music and then after a while I realized the music wasn't coming from my earphones anymore but from the phone's speakers, even when the earphones were plugged in. I tried plugging them in again several times, still won't work. Is it a software update issue, or a hardware issue? My earphones work fine on my laptop, so i don't think it's an issue with my earphones.
I had this problem on my Z5 recently. I was going to send it off to Sony as no matter what I did it wouldn't work. So I got a can of compressed air, used for cleaning etc, and blew it down the headphone jack. I then got it under a magnifiying glass to see whats going on in the jack. Trouser fluff embedded at the base of the jack! Using a small pointed screwdriver I was able to pick the dirt and fluff out and use a little cotton bud dipped in electrical contact cleaner to clean the contacts in the jack. Sorted.
you are my hero.
Thank you so much!
bye
BRO, WHAT A LIFE SAVER, THANKS A LOT, I WAS AFRAID I HAD TO SEND TO WARRANTY BUT U SAVED ME THAT WORK :DDDD THANKS A LOT!!!!
Ok Folks, to save you butthurt and searching for a fix for this issue listen carefully. Someone earlier mentioned that headphone jack has 2 or 3 points of conrtact and that got me thinking. So I took a small stripe of tin foil, wraped it around my headphones jack and pushed it into my phne and guess what ? my headphones work perfectly now !! SO before you go downloading softare to fix this try this simple trick first and it might just work. Let me know if I helped too !!
thanks bro solution for use SoundAbout from HELWATANY working for meee,,,
i think my jack broken.. poor smart connect !_!
I solved this on my Z3 by using a whittled down matchstick to gently clean out the accumulated fluff from the earphone socket. Primitive but effective.
